Episode 55: Intuitive Eating, Hypothalamic Amenorrhea Recovery & The Journey to Pregnancy with Amy Lee Giannotti
Today I’m joined by Amy Lee Giannotti, an accredited practising dietitian, and intuitive eating counsellor based in Melbourne, Australia. Having gone through her own person transformation with her relationship with food and exercise, Amy is now passionate about helping others do the same.
Amy realised that many of the learnings she had regarding nutrition were steeped in diet culture, and weight stigma and she got sick and tired of prescribing diet plans that didn’t work. Fed up with the status quo, she knew there had to be another way, which is when she started looking into intuitive eating.
During this whole process she was also facing the difficult journey of recovering from hypothalamic amenorrhea, which she documented and spoke openly about on her Instagram page. She’s not only recovered her period, but is now pregnant and living out her dreams both personally and professionally.

Amy Giannotti is a Dietitian from Melbourne Australia who specializes in Eating Disorders, Disordered Eating and has a special interest in helping women recover from Hypothalamic Amenorrhea or a loss of menstrual cycle.
Amy works with clients all over the world to help them overcome fear of weight gain, guilt and anxiety around food and compulsive exercise. She supports them to find clarity, to trust and appreciate their body, feel fully supported and empowered to overcome their disordered eating, to regain their period and if they wish, in becoming pregnant.
