etter Balance Training is a 1:1 online coaching service for those who have recovered from hypothalamic amenorrhea, disordered eating or eating disorders and are looking to return to structured exercise. Run by our resident personal trainer Lucy McConnell,

Better Balance Training will provide you with the support and structure you need to train in a sustainable and enjoyable way focusing on improving the way your body functions, not just how it looks.

The Better Balance Training program will help you exercise in a way that supports your cycle and improves your bone health and overall wellbeing. Through individualised programming Lucy will work with you to slowly rebuild your strength and fitness whilst focusing on intuitive training, balanced movement and building a positive relationship with exercise.

A weekly personalised training program personal to your goals and recovery journey.

Weekly check-ins with your coach, including form correction and training support.

Guidance in tracking your menstrual cycle, and programming tailored to the phases of your cycle.

Who Better Balance Training is for:

✓ Those who have recently recovered from HA, have had 3 recovery cycles and are looking to return to sustainable exercise.
✓ Those who are working on their relationship with food and exercise and are seeking an exercise program which shifts the focus towards improving body function, rather than aesthetics.

Who Better Balance Training isn’t for:

✘ Those in ED or HA recovery who have been directed to refrain from exercise by a health professional or health coach.
✘ Those with a BMI of less than 18.

Who Better Balance Training is for:

ABOUT LUCY:

Lucy is a certified personal trainer, health coach and dietetics student who has been through her own journey of HA and disordered eating recovery. After recovering from HA herself, Lucy reimagined her “dream job” as someone who could use her qualifications and personal experience to help other women also struggling with HA and disordered eating.

Lucy has worked in the fitness industry for 3 years and has experience in coaching clients both 1:1 and in a group fitness setting. Lucy’s own personal experience in reintroducing exercise post-recovery led her to seeking out further professional development in this area, gaining a thorough understanding of female physiology, fertile signs and sustainable training practices.

Lucy believes that when it comes to training, there is no one size fits all approach. She will work closely with you to build the best possible program for you, whilst supporting you in building a positive and healthy relationship with exercise.
